Which Raythe Reign vampire world do you like best?

On this Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d profess our great love for vampires ūüôā ¬† With Ever Dark, Raythe has expanded her vampire worlds. ¬†Those who have been reading the blog for a while will know that Raythe never gets tired of vampires… and neither do readers, if Amazon’s top sellers are to be believed.

Raythe is a prime example of writing what she most wants to read.  She combines the best of both worlds in her M/M vampire stories Рyou can get the vampire tropes, and the M/M romance.

In The Abyss, the Kin are a space-faring race of vampires with an alliance with Earth. ¬†Lonely vampire leader Lord Abaddon falls in love with human soldier Anarion, who comes to serve on The Abyss, the Kin’s flagship.

This immense serial¬†spanning more than one hundred chapters was the first of Raythe’s vampire stories.

And then, Sanctuary came on the scene. ¬†With more “traditional” vampires and set in modern day, Sanctuary has many more of the familiar vampire tropes.

The main couple of human Alex and vampire Demetrius was romantic and sexy, but The Nomad stole the show.  Raythe had to make a continuation of this universe in The Ghost Half.

Related to Sanctuary is the original manga Date A Vampire.Com, a collaboration between Mathia and Raythe that is a runaway hit, even for those Members who don’t usually like manga.

In this sweet story, old-fashioned Milo starts dating vampire Lucien over video through a vampire dating site, only Milo doesn’t believe that vampires are real…

And the latest is Ever Dark, with a darker, more atmospheric tone. ¬†This story is just getting started, but Raythe has been giving it 3 chapter per month to feed the Members’ hunger for more!

Youtube personalities urban-explorer Julian and his skeptic friend Christian get in over their head when they discover an ancient vampire tomb… and a hidden society of ruthless vampires out for their blood. ¬†Julian makes a devil’s bargain with the vampire king inside the tomb¬†to save his best friend from being drained, a pact that ties them together forever.

I love the abyss vamps most just because they’re so unique! Usually vamp stories deal with the past, long ago customs ect. which makes the Abyss all the more special! Not to say that I’ve not liked the other vamp stories either (especially Ever Dark) but still. ABYSS FOR EVAAA! ^^

Why is Sanctuary pairedbwith Date A Vampire?

    • BuddhaAli February 14, 2017 at 5:01 pm #

@ Lia – Sanctuary characters interact with the main characters in the Winter Haven Universe, and so do the Date A Vampire characters. They all exist in the same time line in the same basic universe, I think?

Abyss is in the future and probably in a universe where there were never vampires on Earth.

Likewise the Dark Earth story is, according to Raythe Reign herself, in its own universe with its own creation story. Actually the Dark Earth itself is supposed to be a parallel dimension that is TRULY its own universe.

So The Dark Earth is not related to any of the Winter Haven Country Club / The Fell / The Mermen / Sanctuary / Date A Vampire story lines because they aren’t in the same universe.

So I think Raythe and her lovely staff divided the poll up to be the different universes, rather than the different characters or individual stories. I hope that helps?

      Happy Valentines Day to everyone!

Oh gosh I misspoke! The Dark Earth (about elves in an underground world filled with magic and evil demons) IS part of the Winter Haven Story Universe!! But the EVER DARK is its own universe. I’m so sorry if I’m confusing you, me and the internet. Never mind my earlier post!

So the Ever Dark is its own parallel dimension and its own universe.

Sorry about that. I get the two story names / titles really confused.

I’m voting Sanctuary only because we don’t know enough about the Ever Dark vampires to be sure what’s going on yet. Super excited to learn, though!

I kind of feel like on the whole, the modern day vampires (particularly in the Sanctuary of Winter Haven) are kinder to others and have a better society and relationship with their prey than the space alien vampires of the Abyss. Don’t want to be too spoilery about the Kin, but their society had become very military and broken down in terms of values. Its a fabulous and dystopian story, but not too romantic in many ways.

Love the Abaddon and Anarion story! But they’re not too Valentines day. Except for the Massacre. Yeah, Sanctuary and the Nomad are very modern Valentines day hearts and sweetness and well… light, and the Abyss was very Valentines Day Massacre.

I really enjoyed the abyss and the other stories are also good but I’m afraid I’m a bit vampired out.
Even the nomad has a side story. Granted it wasn’t about vampires per say but it had aspects of vampirism throughout the story.

They’re all good, although Ever Dark is still in it’s early stages. As Scarlet says the world of The Abyss is not one I’ve come across anywhere else. So feel free to write another in that universe if you’re bored and have spare time !!

I love all your vampire stories, but I particularly love the Abyss, it was the first telling of that story that I loved the most but the change you did was also really good.
