What Cursed 1’s sudden success means for ALL M/M readers

There have been some interesting developments on the Cursed front!

Last weekend, Raythe made Cursed: Broken free on Amazon and our own shop because #3 is coming out soon.  This is normal “book series strategy” and to us, it just makes sense.  People can see if they like the series before they pay anything.

But we didn’t expect Cursed 1 to shoot up the Amazon charts to 1100 in the whole free Kindle store.  We’ve done this artificially with Merman by using Kindle book promotions.  But this happened without any advertising at all.

And not only that, the rank is sticking.  Yes, we went down a little after the initial downloading frenzy, but we’re at around 1700 in the whole free Kindle store and #133 for ALL paranormal romance.

This is a big win for the book series…

But it’s an even bigger win for M/M readers in general.

It means that we are not a “niche.”  We are not weird for liking love stories with two men instead of one man and one woman.

Cursed 1’s organic popularity proves that M/M romance is… just romance!

Like we’ve always said, what we do is not “gay romance” because we don’t deal with gay issues.  Cursed is just another flavor of shifter romance, where the two characters happen to both be dudes.

And it is now mainstream among the romance-reading audience.

So, even if you’re not into the Cursed series – I think this is really cool for us as readers.  What do you think?

If you haven’t gotten Cursed 1 yet, you can download it here in PDF, ePub, or Mobi.

Cursed 3 is coming out in September as fast as Raythe can get it out to proofreaders and format it! We are definitely planning to have a paperback and audio version as well.

As a published author of romance books (m/m time travel books) I have to give you my congratulations. It’s great, fantastic, to see you storming the charts. Well done.

We’ve been higher, but with ads. It was cool to just see Amazon’s algorythm’s working FOR us for a change and people picking up the book. Once the series is complete we’re psyched to put a lot more behind it.

And all I can think of is that “Of course Bane would have his book shoot through the rankings. That’s just like him.”
