The Fell Illustration You Asked For!

Remember when you voted for what story would get the next illustration and Crimson and The Fell won?

You’ve seen Crimson, but now we have The Fell.  Once more, Mathia Arkoniel has made the story come to life.  Here are the stages that the illustration went through to get to the final, beautiful illustration we have at the bottom!

The illustration will also be put on the site, but we thought to show it here first.

The initial sketch!

The middle ground. Notice how Mathia has already added that sense of light …

The finished piece! The candles actually glow … There’s so much detail that you can’t look enough!

Please let us know what you think!

I love it! I’m a seamstress and I just love the Nyssa’s dress is done. I also love all the tailored suits, even Mountain Man is dressed up. But personal I love this picture for the details and Crimson’s for the sexiness. To different pictures both are lovely.

    OMG it is stunning!!!!
You drew all of them!! Thank you soo much Mathia you’re so awesome and talented, it’s gorgeous!!!
It’s great to see the new Ethan! And woaaah, Scott in a suit!!!
Nyssandra is absolutely gorgeous too, I’m so happy it’s the first illustration we have of her! And she has the leaf pendant <3 (or at least it looks like it, I can't zoom in a lot). I notice though like TariaTin said that the glove covering her withered right hand was forgotten ^^

Other than the characters, I'm also amazed by all the details, by the gorgeous glowing lights and by the shadows and reflections on the floor, woah!!

That’s my fault not Mathia’s. I didn’t have that put in because I saw this as after the battle with the fallen.

This is everything I could have hoped for! Nysa looking exquisite in her debut picture – with me imagining her storming after Ethan in ‘The Erl-King’ and being just as magnificent.

What gets me the most is this could have been an empty room, with a little detail for setting such as the tree. But between the accents on their clothing, the mistletoe hanging from chandeliers, and the people off to the side… gosh darn it, this picture makes me smile. And I needed to smile after reading most of ‘And I For Him’ on AO3 (it’s the third most ‘kudos[d]’ story on ‘Downton Abbey’). The tags are no joke, but it’s so good (with a few grammar errors) that I recommend it anyway.

As some of the other people asked, I would LOVE to buy a print of the first , second and the third picture. Is there any chance you might be doing this? I have the perfect place in my living room for a three framed art, laid out just like you did on this very page. PLEASE!? PLEASE!? PLEASE!?

Mathia never ceases to amaze me how she brings such beauty and depth to her wonderful creations that she does for Raythe’s stories.

This is breathtaking and I love the progression of the picture and how the glow and depth and beauty is realized in the end. Beautiful!!

The attention to detail is stunning, with the tree, the detail on the clothing and walls and everywhere, it’s stunning and gorgeous. Nicely Done, as always, Mathia.

I would’ve thought that Ethan would get dressed in green and silver. I don’t know- I just keep thinking of Alric and Ethan going on about green and silver that I thought for sure those would be the theme colors for Ethan. Oh well.

Other than that, Mountain Man really does look mountain-ish. His height looks to be taller than Shaq! DANG!!!

The colors make the room vibrant.

Nyssa’s dress is SUPER PRETTY!!!! \^o^/

Scott’s hair is long! Like, I seriously didn’t expect that. I thought it would barely brush his shoulders, but I like that it goes past it a bit. More hair for fingers to run through. /^o^\

For a second I thought that Alric was wearing a short cape, then I realized it was just his long and flowing hair. Sigh. Ethan, have fun for me.

I loved being able to see the progression as Mathia is really a master at light. The figures are always luminous.
