I want to talk about you guys, the site’s current, past and future Members. That’s right. This post is about YOU.
We’ve talked a lot on this blog about censorship because we think it’s WRONG (all caps is necessary to show the strength of our emotions about this). As readers, we don’t want someone telling us what’s “acceptable”.
Personally, I am sick to death of some person somewhere who has nothing to do with me telling me what I like is “wrong” or will “harm the children” and should never see the light of day. I’m sorry, but that’s bull. Because if people were so concerned with the children there would be NOTHING but Barney available (and someone, somewhere would surely be offended by him, too, if they haven’t already).
Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo have all restricted their storefronts in various ways to limit choices for readers. They bow to pressure, because they don’t think we matter as much as those other people who might be offended by these “unacceptable” books. They go where they think more money is, whether they are right or wrong. Caving is always easier to the more strident voices.
And that’s where YOU come in.
Raythe Reign is built on a completely different model than those other stores. We have subscribers, insiders if you will, who support the content on our site. We don’t have to worry about people who don’t like our stuff/don’t find it “acceptable” because they will NEVER be members, so why would we ever listen to them?
We wouldn’t, and we won’t. Our money comes from people who support what we do. So we don’t listen to anyone else but our members (and the voices in my head … but you guys seem to like those).
So YOU, our past, present and future members, are the ones that matter to us. The more members we get, the more we can do, the better the site gets, and we can give you that “unacceptable” content that you can’t get anywhere else.
But getting members faces as many roadblocks as selling that “unacceptable” content does on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Kobo, because Google, et al., listen to those shrill voices that scream gay fiction is “unacceptable” on its face, let alone some of the more risqué things we publish. We have to find a way (again) to get around the companies that listen to everyone but us and you.
So how do we do that? We turn to you.
We’ve put together an affiliate programs that rewards you with cold, hard cash for every person who becomes a member at Raythe Reign.
You can find the basic information about how it works and what to do here:
If you’ve already signed up on our “promo team” mailing list, we will email you with information as well.
If you are interested, you have to be added manually by an admin. Email marketing @ raythereign – dot – com to be added.
We’re just getting started, so we’re sure there will be questions. Email the marketing address above for those, too!
