Fan Friday: A fanmade video for Ghost: Neo Tokyo

ghost_neo-tokyo_frontcoverbOne of our long-time members made an incredibly professional looking fan video for Ghost: Neo Tokyo and sent it to us.  Fan videos mark a major milestone for Raythe Reign.

Back at the beginning, more than three years ago, we were talking about how people made AMVs (anime music videos), and how awesome it would be if we ever got to the point where people started making them for us.

While we don’t think about entertainment as a popularity contest, things like AMVs mean that an original work is at a certain level.  It means that a story reaches enough people, and it has something about it that captures imaginations and inspires some to extend the work with their own contributions.

Though we’ve said it before, we’ll continue to say it: Everyone at RR is fully aware that art is a partnership between the artist and the audience.  Our unique way of publishing is built on this knowledge.  Without both sides participating, there is no art.  We’re continually amazed and grateful at how our readers encourage us on to the next best thing.

Fan works are simply outward proof of what goes on inside the audience’s minds.  We hope that this is just the beginning of more audience participation.

Brilliantly done! So professional. Makes me want to read it all over again! And see it made into an anime! The music is perfect for it as well. Kudos to the authors, both of the novel and of the fan video.

Wow, thanks guys! I’m so, so happy you like it!
You think it looks professional?? Wow. Thanks. I’m not a pro at all though, I didn’t know the first thing about the software I used (After Effects) before I started this video lol!
I just found a lot of tutorials on Youtube and they looked great and were really easy to follow. Anyone can do it ^^ With Adobe Premiere and Photoshop, and After Effects for the cool special effects. You should all try!

And I’m very happy it make you want to read/re-read the story =) Thanks for your praises really, I didn’t expect that much! And really the video is cool only because Raythe’s story is amazing and the illustrations are stunning ^^

Awesome video! My only critique is that the text went by too fast.

I’ve heard that a few times, so next time I’ll make the text a bit more slow 😉 Thanks for telling me!
