Some of you may remember that the next new serial to start at Raythe Reign is a m/m high fantasy piece called The Elven King’s Blade.
This is the “King” character sheet for you to enjoy while Mathia Arkoniel, our most excellent artist, is working on the cover, which hopefully should be done by month’s end.
Here’s the story:
A great Elven King is dying, because he must be magically bonded to a certain kind of Elven Warrior called a Blade. All the Blades have disappeared, except for one, who supposedly was banished to the human realm of Earth.
The Elven King goes to search for his Blade with all sorts of prejudicial beliefs against humans, but also with dark forces on his tail. He’s injured and saved by the one he is actually looking for, except instead of the pure-blooded Elven Warrior he expected, he finds what appears to be just a human, a lesser being not fit for to bond with.
We thought it would be fun for you to learn a little bit about the characters and let us know what you think and what you hope the story will contain.
Here’s a little bit about Aethaden:
- NAME: King Aethaden Undriel, Undriel means Life Giver but can also mean Life Taker
- TYPE: Mage/Summoner
- EYE COLOR: Purple
- HAIR COLOR: Platinum
- AGE: 1007
- TATTOO: He has the same tattoo as Ciaran. Shows they are connected.
- RACE: Valore Elf
- PET: Twig adores him, often wraps himself around Aethaden’s neck, nose tucked beneath his fluffy tail.
- MOTHER: Firathia Undriel
- FATHER: Syrthavel Undriel
- BEST FRIEND/COUNSELOR: Lord Halleden Morgana
PERSONALITY: Aethaden is the last Undriel. He has watched as all of his kin have fallen into the Black Sleep without their Blades. His youth protected him from falling, too, but that protection is at an end. He has passed his 1000th year when he should have bonded with his Blade, but he has yet to discover a way to bring the Blades back or free his kin from the dark magic that plagues them.
The youth that spared him so far has made him many enemies among the other powerful Elven clans who resent such a young Elf ruling them, especially someone as proud and prickly as Aethaden. These families see no reason why the Undriels must continue to lead them at all. After all, the Undriels’ unique ability to rouse the Guardians to protect them hasn’t been needed since far before Aethaden has been alive. Surely, that state of affairs will continue …
But Aethaden has no intention of going quietly into that good night. He will go to the ends of the earth, even other realms to find his Blade and a way to save his family. But he never even considered a lesser being such as a human would be his savior …
